The new Honda Pilot will have a new design language, along with added tech and versatility
Honda has released a sketch of the next-generation Pilot, just 2 weeks to go before its debut at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show,
Still designed by Honda R&D Americas of Los Angeles and Ohio, the next-generation Honda Pilot will have a new design language, along with new technologies, versatility and dynamics that are currently unavailable in other SUV segments.
The Japanese automaker did not expound about the new design language of the upcoming Honda Pilot, but the sketch does show that the 8-seater SUV will have a sleeker appearance. Compare it with the current generation Pilot, the new one has a sloped roofline and reshaped windows.
No powertrain specification was revealed by the company but Honda did say that its engine will now be produced at Honda's manufacturing plant in Lincoln, Alabama.
"Honda continues to fortify its light-truck lineup in 2015, this time turning our eye to the fast-growing family SUV segment. The new Pilot will raise the bar in a segment it helped to create, with more innovation, style, premium features and family utility than ever before,” said Jeff Conrad, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Honda Division.
