2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure ready for the long haul
The guys over at Toyota recently outfitted their C-segment crossover with a sportier version called the 2018 RAV4 Adventure. Looking more rugged and ready for an adventure, the special trim model gets a plethora of exterior upgrades, along with several interior add-ons.
Starting with the exterior, the 2018 RAV4 Adventure gets a mild suspension lift kit that is complemented by 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels wrapped in 235/55 tires. Topping it all off are the new overfender flares and the blacked-out headlight surrounds, roof rails, foglight housings and the 'Adventure' badges.
Inside, Toyota claimed that RAV4 Adventure gets a variety of exclusive interior features. New trim panels surround the cabin, along with all-weather floor mats and cargo mats. Also installed in the special RAV4 are the 120V/100W power outlet in the cargo area, door sill protectors and a leather-wrapped shift knob.
Optional extras that can be specified for the 2018 RAV4 Adventure include: heat/power fabric front row seats and a heated steering wheel.
The 2018 RAV4 Adventure will be available either as a front-wheel-drive (FWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD) crossover. The former is fitted with an automatic limited-slip differential while the latter gets the Dynamic Torque Control system.
Driving the RAV4 Adventure is the familiar 2.5-liter inline-four with Dual VVT-i. It is rated at 180 PS and has 233 Nm of torque. It is then mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox with manual select. As a special treat, both the FWD and AWD models come with an upgraded radiator, along with engine and transmission oil coolers.
Other safety features present in the 2018 RAV4 Adventure are the following: trailer sway control, hill-start assist control and the Toyota Safety Sense package (TSS-P).
