Two of Toyota's largest offerings in the US gets spruced up by TRD. Both the Tundra and Sequoia get off-road parts from the marque's in-house performance division. At the same time, Toyota revealed updated versions of both the Sequoia and Tundra.
For the 2018 model year, both the Sequoia and Tundra get slightly tweaked front ends. In the Sequoia, it gets new headlights which now incorporate LED daytime running lights. Redesigned front bumpers and slightly tweaked tail lights complete the updates on the Sequoia. Meanwhile, changes made to the Tundra revolve around its headlight and tail light cluters.
In TRD trim, the Tundra gets Sport Tuned Bilstein Shocks and TRD front and rear anti-sway bars. It also gains 20-inch silver alloy wheels with black accents, LED headlights with black bezel and Daytime Running Lights (DRL), Mesh grille with body color surround and a TRD Sport bedside graphic. Toyota also added more standard safety kit in the Tundra. These include Toyota Safety Sense (TSS-P) which bundles a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Auto High Beams (AHB) and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC).
Like the TRD Tundra, the TRD Sequoia gets the same uprated suspension. It too consists of TRD Sport Tuned Bilstein Shocks and TRD front and rear anti-sway bars. Choose the TRD package and the full-size SUV gets a new front grille, gloss black mirror caps, 20-inch alloy black sport wheels, smoked rear tail light lens and black satin finish TRD Sport badging on the front doors. The TRD Sequoia is also available with captain chair seats as part of the optional Premium Package. 2018 Sequoias come also come with TSS-P standard.
The TRD Packages are available for both 4x2 and 4x4 models of the Tundra and Sequoia. Both these models are powered by the 5.7 i-Force V8 which puts out 381 PS and 543 Nm of torque.
