Kia gives us a glimpse of upcoming Concept EV9

Kia is serious about introducing more electric vehicles (EVs). Earlier this year, the company already launched its first dedicated model with the EV6. But the Korean automaker has a lot more in store.

Set to be revealed at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show is the Kia Concept EV9. To give the public a glimpse of the upcoming concept, Kia recently released several design renderings of the EV9.

Unlike the EV6, which has a low-slung, sporty design, the EV9 adopts a boxy SUV shape complemented by muscular wheel arches. It also gets a unique front fascia that features Z-shaped LED daytime running lights, and a thin tiger-nose grille.

Other notable features of the Concept EV9 include wheels with a Y-shape design, a panoramic sunroof, an illuminated Kia badge at the rear, and a distinct pair of LED taillights.

Aside from the exterior, Kia also gave a peek of the Concept EV9's interior. It gets a minimalist look with very few physical buttons. Instead, it has an ultra-wide touchscreen display along with looks to be a touch-sensitive panel. Don't expect to find a traditional steering wheel as the Concept EV9 will come with a futuristic-looking wheel.

The Korean automaker is still tight-lipped about the vehicle's electric powertrain. But with the LA Auto Show set to happen on November 17, 2021, we won't have to wait long for the concept's reveal.

Kia won't be the only Korean automaker to reveal a full-size electric SUV at the show either. Hyundai is also set to reveal its own large electric SUV dubbed the 'SEVEN'.

Expect both automakers to reveal their latest EV concepts this week once the LA Auto Show opens its doors.
