If you ever wanted to see some of the most beautiful and greatest cars ever made, then the annual (and prestigious) Concours d’Elegance event is definitely a must-visit. Unfortunately, with the COVID-19 pandemic still posing a threat, it is nearly impossible to hold a gathering of such a grand scale.

In place of the canceled Concours events, you can soon view these great vehicles from the comfort of your house. From June 30 to August 9, the Concours Virtual Presented by Hagerty will be held with the aim of raising £100,000 (Php 6.2 million) for Unicef.

The cars to be displayed on the Concours Virtual website will include those from the early 1900s to present day one-off models. Just like an actual Concours d’Elegance event, an all-star team of judges will be meticulously going over all of the cars that will be participating in the virtual show. Some of the judges include Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, five-times Le Mans winner Derek Bell, Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival founder The Duke of Richmond, Aston Martin design director Marek Reichman, and modified Porsche guru Magnus Walker.

There will be various classes as well including Bonneville racers, concept cars, classic supercars, and Formula 1 cars. Some of the cars that have already entered include a 1930 Bentley 4½ Litre that has been in the same family from new; the 1978 Lancia Sibilo Bertone concept car; the National Motor Museum’s 1950 BRM V16 Formula 1 car, raced by Juan Manual Fangio; the MG EX181 land speed record breaker driven by Stirling Moss; and a heavily modified Porsche 356 ‘Outlaw’.

Now if you happen to own a car that would fit right in a Concours D’Elegance event, then you can join the virtual show as well. Head over to the Concours Virtual website and you will be given the option to apply. All you need to do is fill it up a survey, and the organizers will get in touch to confirm entrance.

Aside from the judges, members of the public may also vote for their favorite vehicles in each class starting June 30. The overall Best in Show winner will be announced on August 9.

Hopefully, we get to see some Philippine entries in the Concours Virtual.
