The Car of the Year Awards Group, Inc. (CAGI) recently elected its new officers and board members for the 2005-2006 campaign. The CAGI Group, a collaboration of 46 motoring journalists from over 21 media outfits and publications (including, held its elections in a relatively quiet ceremony at the Tiananmen Bar within the Ortigas Home Depot complex in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

Manny de los Reyes (editor-in-chief of Speed Magazine) was elected president, while vice-president honors went to Manila Bulletin's Aris Ilagan. Voted in as secretary was Philippine Daily Inquirer's Tessa Salazar, while Auto Extreme's Joselu Romualdez was voted in as treasurer. Voted as auditor was Bam Olivarez of the Daily Tribune.

Other voted members of the board were Alvin Uy of Avantgarde (as marketing director), Philippine Star/Speed's Lester Dizon as Testfest Director, Philippine Star/Speed's Andy Leuterio as promotions director, Hotwire's Ira Panganiban as CAGI Awards Night director, Atty. Robbie Consunji (Top Gear's off-road guru) as Ethics Committee director and Philippine Daily Inquirer motoring columnist Aida Sevilla-Mendoza as Ways and Means director.
