Geely has big news this year; literally and figuratively.

The Chinese automaker will soon be entering the mid-size crossover market and they've already shown the world what it looks like. It's called the Haoyue and it has the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento in its crosshairs.

Yes, the Haoyue is classified as a mid-sized crossover, but it's a sizable one. Measuring in at over 4.8 meters long, it's actually longer than the two rivals mentioned above. We told you it was big news.

With dimensions like that, it comes as no surprise that this crossover comes with three rows of seats. We could expect a lot of space in there too as the Chinese Market favors cars that have loads of legroom.

As for the design, it follows the current design language of the brand. It has rectangular headlights, along with a slim, wide grill with a 'ripple' effect pattern on it, and an almost flat clamshell hood. Lines on the flanks are well defined, particularly on the fenders and quarter panels.

Engine specs have yet to mentioned by Geely, but a range of turbocharged gas engines seem the likeliest. Interior photos of the car have yet to be made available as well.

With Geely now in the Philippine market, it might be possible if the local distributor will be bringing it over here as well. After all, Geely Philippines only has one car to offer at the moment, and bringing in a second one will be really welcome.
