A few years back, Geely Auto introduced an MPV concept which combined sleek styling with a futuristic design. Not too many details were divulged about the MPV concept except that it previews a future production model. Now, it seems we may soon be seeing that MPV concept albeit with its actual design. The Chinese automaker recently revealed a set of teaser photos previewing the yet-to-be-named MPV.
As seen in the teaser photos, the production model Geely MPV has remained faithful to the concept. That said, there are some angles in the teaser photos where it looks like Toyota's ever popular MPV, the Innova. Up front There are large upswept LED headlights which flank the brand's signature grill. The bumper retains the one-piece lower air intake of the concept, but the design has been tamed down for production. It now houses LED light bars as well.
From the side, Geely's upcoming MPV model continues to have the concept's floating roof design. The windows give it a flowing look that continues to the rear. At the rear, the angle of the photos only show us a bit of the wrap around taillight. No photos of the interior were shown, but the concept was capable of seating six and had a futuristic interior. That said, expect the production model to have a more traditional looking dashboard.
No technical details have been revealed about the unnamed MPV. Geely did mention however that it was committed to having 90-percent of sales in hybrids and pure electric vehicle's by 2020. Furthermore, the Geely MPV will make 'full use of new energy technologies', meaning it will likely be offered with a hybrid option.
The Geely MPV is set to be launched in China by towards the end of 2018 and will be rolled out globally soon afterwards.
