In the world of e-sports, pro-gamers often sit in gaming chairs instead of your run-of-the-mill computer/office chairs. These gaming chairs often come in various colors and resemble aftermarket racing seats, even having holes for a racing harness. According to gamers, these gaming chairs look better and help build their online identity. However, they aren't the most comfortable seats to play games in.
Nissan recently revealed three design sketches of what their future gaming chairs could look like. The set of unique gaming chairs are also inspired by models from the brand's current line up – the GT-R Nismo, Armada, and Leaf.
The sportiest looking seat is none other than the one inspired by the GT-R Nismo which features aggressive side bolsters paired with red padding. The seat is then constructed from lightweight carbon fiber and aluminum. Nissan claims this seat is built for “excitement” and “high performance”. From the looks of the render, this seat doesn't seem to be that comfortable. But, you do get a lot of points in the styling department.
The next chair takes to the Nissan Armada for inspiration. From the sketches, it is the widest seat out of the three. Nissan says this seat is designed with comfort in mind, using the same leather as the range-topping Armada SUV. It also comes with heating and cooling as well as extra lumbar supports.
Last is the all-white chair inspired by the all-electric Nissan Leaf. Just like the EV, it comes with blue accents and uses eco-friendly materials during construction. It comes with a USB port and is the only one available with a leg rest.
At the moment, there doesn't seem to be any plans for building these chairs. However, Nissan says that they will “gauge public reaction”. While these chairs may be more comfortable and stylish, they certainly won't help with your gaming skills.
