2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado refresh leaks out early

It appears that Toyota will release yet again an updated Land Cruiser Prado. Apparently, leaked photos of what appear to be brochure images of the 2018 Prado recently surfaced online.

Posted online by Instagram user 'hamad1two3', the purported 2018 Land Cruiser Prado will get a new face, along with updated in-car features. If the pictures are to be believed, the front fascia will now look similar to the 2016 Land Cruiser 200 facelift.

The headlights no longer extend downwards towards the front bumper and now feature black accents. Meanwhile, the grill itself gets thicker slats and the trim now extends towards the hood. The lower front bumper gets a mild redesign, as well as the foglight housings.

The rear, on the other hand, gets a mild refresh as it only gets what look to be a revamped set of taillights and rear foglights. Pictures of the 2018 Prado's interior are not available though the center console appears to have been updated and now comes with a new touchscreen infotainment system.

Details about the 2018 Land Cruiser Prado's engine lineup are not yet available but it's highly likely that it will receive the carried-over powertrain from before. These include the 4.0-liter V6 that produces 268 PS with 366 Nm of torque, the 3.0-liter D-4D turbo-diesel with 163 PS and 410 Nm of torque, and the new 2.8-liter turbo-diesel that generates 177 PS and 450 Nm of torque (420 Nm on manual models). Locally, the current Land Cruiser Prado is only available with the gasoline V6 and 3.0-liter turbo-diesel.

In review, the fourth-generation Land Cruiser Prado was first released back in 2009 and received its first update back in 2013.

Sources close to the matter point that the 2018 Land Cruiser Prado could make its world debut in Japan by September.
