Since its launch in 2018, the Nissan Terra has been seeing a host of steady improvements, and with several updates. Over in Thailand, they upgraded it again by giving it a body kit and more equipment additions.
It's called the Terra Energetic Package and at the front, there's a prominent bumper extension kit that adds a bit more presence on the SUV. The same treatment applies at the back and includes a set of faux quad tail pipes and a large red reflector at the center. The flanks on the other hand are left untouched and so are the wheels.
One feature exclusive to the Terra Energetic Package, at least for now, is the hands-free automatic tailgate. To open, simply wave your foot underneath the rear bumper. It is likely that Nissan will eventually introduce this feature in the next batches of Terra, possibly for the VL range. Another thing they added to the Energetic Package is simulated wood trim on the center stack and console. The Energetic Package can be fitted on any VL variant of Terra, be it 4x2 or 4x4, over in Thailand.
As for the rest of the SUV, it carries over largely unchanged from the range-topping VL spec. Interior color combinations are the same, as well as the standard equipment sans the aforementioned power automatic tailgate. Also carried over is the engine although the Thai-spec Terra uses a twin-turbocharged 2.3-liter diesel engine but it makes the same output as the ones sold here, meaning it makes 190 PS and 450 Nm of torque.
While this is a Thailand special edition, this might signal the first of what could be many specialized, limited-run variants of the Terra which could be offered here in the future.
