Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFL-PV) has announced that they will build three new facilities and business units in China, namely the Venucia Design Center, the Advanced Enginnering Technology Center and the Corporate University. With a total investment of approximately RMB 500 million (around PHP 3.5 billion), DFL-PV says the first phase of the main construction is expected to be completed in 2015.
“Since the first Venucia model was first introduced to the market in April 2012, Venucia has been one of the fastest growing domestic automobile brands in China. These three major centers will play key roles in improving DFL-PV's R&D and manufacturing capabilities,” said Susumu Uchikosi, DFL-PV Managing Director.
The Venucia Design Center and the Advanced Engineering Technology Center will exclusively support Venucia, DFL-PV's local Chinese marquee. Moreover, DFL-PV says Venucia is the first joint venture automotive brand in China to have its own design center and advanced engineering technology center.
With this, the Venucia Design Center will focus on the exterior and interior design, color, clay model and digital model development of Venucia vehicles.
On the other hand, DFL-PV says the Advanced Engineering Technology Center will take the lead for new model preparation including homologation, prototype development, testing and development of manufacturing technologies for the future Venucia models.
Lastly, the Corporate University will provide training programs and educational platforms for DFL-PV's managerial, administrative and engineering staff. Furthermore, the Corporate University will have programs for the dealers and suppliers. It will also collaborate with other academic institutions for hiring and training of young talent.
