For those heading out to Meycauayan using the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), the Department of Transporation (DOTr) recently opened up two new exit ramps in the area. Namely the Libtong and Pandayan exits, the two new exit ramps were constructed to help ease traffic congestion at the Meycauayan Interchange.
Construction of the Php 31.5-million exit ramps projects began early this year, and was handled by the NLEX Corporation. The main goal being to ease the traffic build up that usually occurs at the Meycauayan Interchange, which often stretches until a good part of the expressway. To futher decongest traffic at Meycauayan, the southbound toll plaza is also being expanded, making room for more vehicles.
The Libtong and Pandyan exit ramps were officially opened last July 6 by the NLEX Corporation. Rodrigo Franco, president of NLEX Corp revealed at the opening ceremony that more programs to decongest traffic along the expressway. He also added that more enhancements throughout NLEX will be undertaken in order to deliver quality service to motorist.
Meanwhile, Congresswoman Linabelle Villarica, recognized DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade during her speech for implementing traffic improvement programs in Meycauyan.
Also present during the ceremony were Meycauayan City Mayor Henry R. Villarica, Vice Mayor Rafael S. Manzano, Jr., other LGU officials, NLEX Corporation senior vice president for Tollways Development and Engineering Raul L. Ignacio, senior vice president for Communications and Stakeholder Management Romulo S. Quimbo, Jr., vice president for Project Management Nemesio G. Castillo, vice president for Asset Management Jennifer Jane T. Go, and assistant vice president for Government Relations Roberto N. Tañada.
