Heading out this Father's Day weekend? Better brace for a bit of traffic as the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) will conduct several roadworks along major thoroughfares. From June 15 to 18, the DPWH will resume road reblocking along EDSA, as well as other roads in the cities of Quezon and Manila.
Three sections along EDSA will undergo road repairs. First up is the southbound lane after Arayat Street, 3rd lane from the sidewalk. Another section of EDSA that will be rehabilitated will be the 3rd southbound lane near Francesca Tower after Scout Borromeo. Finally, there's the northbound 2nd lane near North Avenue MRT-3 Station.
Besides EDSA, the DPWH will also be doing repairs along Batasan Road in Quezon City and A.H. Lacson Avenue in Manila. From Commonwealth Ave. to Kalinisan Street, the DPWH will reblock the 2nd lane of Batasan Road. Meanwhile, a section of A.H. Lacson Avenue near Espana will also undergo rehabilitation.
The weekend rehabilitation will be carried out 11PM, Friday (June 15) until 5AM, Monday (June 18). The DPWH will use a one day concrete mix to speed up road repairs along the affected roadways so that they will be passable as soon as possible.
