Travel time between Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental will soon be faster as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is nearly finished paving a new road that connects the two provinces.
Called the Kibawe-Kadingilan-Kalilangan (KKK) Road, the new 53.4-km thoroughfare will connect the two provinces seamlessly. When completed, the DPWH claims that the KKK Road will cut travel time between the two from two hours to just one hour.
“DPWH Regional Office 10, under the leadership of Regional Director Zenaida Tan, undertook the improvement of the 53.4-kilometer national road that forms a loop with the Maramag-Pangantukan-Kalilangan Road to Sayre Highway via Municipality of Kadingilan,” Mark A. Villar, DPWH Secretary.
Under the General Appropriations Act (GAA), the DPWH allocated a total of Php 101 million which was used in the last phase of the project. It consisted of road paving and stone masonry works on the 2.287-km road section along the national road in order to strengthen the Cagayan de Ora-Bukidnon Link.
Apart from the road itself, eights bridges were also built for the road project: Malatipay Bridge, Manubiray Bridge, Kiorayag Bridge, Mig-asa Bridge, Kidangin Bridge, Ukitan Bridge, Mulita Bridge, and Apolang Bridge.
Villar added that besides making travel time between the two faster, they also expect that the new KKK Road will help increase economic activity in Region 10.
