If your plan is to ‘staycation’ this Holy Week 2016, well stick with the plan and don’t venture out too much especially along EDSA because the metro’s major artery will get worked on as soon as everyone has made their way out to their respective provinces.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has announced that they will conduct repairs on multiple portions of EDSA during the Lenten Week.
Beginning Maundy Thursday, March 24 at 2AM, the agency’s Metro Manila First District Engineering Office will start work on the northbound lane of EDSA between Madison Street, San Juan City and Ortigas Avenue in Mandaluyong City.
At the same time, a different team will be fixing the southbound lane of ESA between the Ortigas Flyover and Boni Avenue.
The estimated time for the repair and reblocking of these section is four days and the DPWH expects all work to be completed by 2PM of March 27, Easter Sunday.
Motorists who plan to travel during these times in these areas are advised to seek alternate routes in order to avoid getting stuck in traffic.
