Gran Turismo 5 and Chevrolet Corvette fans have something to keep them busy until the C7 is officially revealed at Detroit: Polyphony Digital and General Motors have made a camouflaged Corvette C7 available as a driveable, downloadable content (DLC) for the game.

Polyphony Digital, the developer of the widely acclaimed Gran Turismo driving simulation series, has rendered a fully camouflaged virtual version of the Chevrolet Corvette C7. The developer and General Motors worked on replicating the details of the camoed C7 such as the wrinkles on the soft material used for the disguise, as well as the driving characteristics of the car.

Gran Turismo has had many firsts and we’re excited to partner with Chevrolet for yet another – bringing the first-ever Chevrolet prototype vehicle into a racing game,” said Kazunori Yamauchi, president of Polyphony Digital, Inc. “As car enthusiasts, we’re thrilled to give fans this extraordinary level of access to the seventh generation Corvette that otherwise would not be possible.”

Gran Turismo 5 has all six generations of the iconic American muscle car in the game. It's also not the first time that Polyphony has had a camoed version of a prototype car in the game, as they have the current Nissan R35 GT-R in various stages of development.
