Duterte Rep: No more luxury cars for public officials


Officials suggested to use Isuzu Crosswinds or Toyota Avanzas

In what appears to be a push for austerity and simplicity, Rodrigo Duterte, through his executive assistant Bong Go, has told reporters that he will be barring public officials from using luxury vehicles. Go adds that in Davao, officials drive around in Isuzu Crosswinds and Toyota Avanzas.

Mayor and president apparent Duterte himself drives an Isuzu D-Max and Mu-X during his stint as Davao City mayor. He wants government officials to set a good example by using more modest vehicles.

It is yet unknown if Duterte himself will be chauffeured in the Presidential Limousine, a Mercedes Benz S-Class Guard.
