Remember when a source told us that Audi Philippines was planning to bring in the all-electric e-Tron crossover? We were told it might arrive and go on sale sometime next year. However, no other details were given to us. Well, it seems Audi Philippines wanted to clear things up following that bit of information. According to PGA Cars, the official distributor of Audi in the Philippines, the e-Tron won't be arriving in 2022. Instead, it will go on sale in the latter half of this year.
Yes, you won't have to wait too long for the new e-Tron crossover. It also means the Porsche Taycan, also under PGA Cars, won't be the only electric vehicle offered by the distributor. Aside from the official arrival later this year, we also know the variants Audi Philippines will be offering – e-Tron 55 quattro and e-Tron 50 quattro.
For reference, the e-tron 50 quattro is the entry-level variant of the all-electric crossover. It uses two electric motors that produce a combined output of 230 kW (313 PS) and 540 Nm torque. Powering the e-tron 50 is a 71.2 kWh lithium-ion battery good for 276 to 336 km based on WLTP tests. Meanwhile, the e-tron 55 features the same setup but produces 300 kW (408 PS) and 664 Nm torque. The battery is bumped up to a 95-kWh unit, giving it a range of 369 to 441 km WLTP.
Audi Philippines has yet to disclose the price of e-Tron 50 quattro and the e-Tron 55 quattro. We expect it will be revealed sometime closer to the launch date or at its local debut.
Interestingly, the e-Tron crossover won't be the only EV Audi Philippines will offer. According to PGA Cars, there will be more e-tron models to come. So yes, the e-Tron Sportback and the movie star e-Tron GT will be making their way to the Philippines in the future. For now, that's all Audi Philippines is willing to share about the upcoming e-Tron. However, they did say more updates will be provided as the e-Tron's date of arrival nears.
From the RS models to the e-Tron models, Audi Philippines is going big this 2021.
