Eight of the 10 call boxes along CCLEX are now installed

Motorists who will have the unlucky experience of car trouble while traversing the 8.9-km Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) will be happy to know that there are now emergency call boxes on the mega-bridge.

Recently, the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway Corp. (CCLEC) installed Emergency Roadside Communication System (ERCS) call boxes on the expressway. This allows motorists to communicate with the CCLEX’s Traffic Operations Center in case they need assistance. Once contacted, CCLEX can quickly dispatch help during emergencies, with just a press of a button.

The CCLEX will have a total of 10 emergency call boxes, eight of which have already been installed along the expressway. Each is strategically located along the emergency lay-bys and is equipped with a loudspeaker, a camera, as well as hearing aids designed for the hearing impaired.

For CCLEC, the installation of the emergency call boxes is part of the management’s aim of providing quality service to CCLEX users and enhancing their expressway experience. In case you need roadside assistance and you happen to have no mobile data, just head on to the nearest lay-by and use the ERCS boxes CCLEX installed on the bridge.
