Prefer your Grand Starex with a bit more posh and class? Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai cars in the country may have just what you need.
Say hello to the 2019 Grand Starex Urban. It serves as the new top-of-the-line variant and is a punch above your usual people carriers.
This 2019 Grand Starex Urban has the first major facelift of the second generation of one of the country's best selling vans that debuted in 2008. The new, more upscale look is a product of Hyundai's progress in design, with a more prominent chrome grille that seamlessly connects with the new projector headlights. Larger 17 inch wheels, side step boards, and the availability of a more premium two-tone paint scheme is a clear indication that this is a more upscale Grand Starex than the mid-grade facelifted variants that Hyundai launched before.
While the rest of the body remains largely unchanged, Hyundai gave the interior of the new Grand Starex Urban a thorough upgrade with new premium brown leather and a new dashboard. The seating configuration of the new range-topping Grand Starex can seat 9 people inside, with two pairs of captain's seats forming up the second and third rows.
For convenience and comfort, the Grand Starex Urban comes with a front and rear climate control system. A touchscreen infotainment system is mounted on the center stack, though rear passengers can enjoy a larger drop down LCD screen. A dual sunroof is also standard.
Under the hood, the Grand Starex Urban is powered by the ever familiar 2.5-liter four-cylinder common rail diesel with a variable geometry turbo. It puts out 175 PS at 3600 rpm along with 450 Nm of torque at 2000 – 2250 rpm. A five-speed automatic transfers power to the rear wheels.
The 2019 Grand Starex Urban retails for Php 2,750,000.
