The 2021 Nissan Navara will be officially launched on March 21, 2021. But several days ago, we already announced all of the available variants that Nissan Philippines will be offering for the refreshed model. From the humble EL all the way to the new range-topping Pro-4X, there's a Navara available for everyone.
But how do the 2021 Navara's looks compare to the outgoing model it will be replacing? Is it a big departure from the current design? Or did Nissan opt for a more evolutionary redesign for the midsize pick-up truck? To get a closer look, we've made a comparo between the facelifted and the soon-to-be outgoing model.
For this particular comparison, we're using the 4x4 VL models for each.
Starting with the front fascia, the Navara gets a new set of headlights. It may have the same shape as its predecessor, but quad LED projectors now come standard for this variant.
Present also on the 2021 Navara is the bigger V-Motion front grille. Compared to the previous grille design, the facelifted unit is wider and more prominent. Finally, the pick-up features a redesigned front bumper, refreshed foglight bezels, and a new plastic skid plate at the front.
So the front end of the Navara gets a noticeable makeover. But what about the rear of the pick-up? Those curious about its bed will be glad to know Nissan actually made some changes. The profile of the bed has been raised and angled upward front to rear.
That way, the Navara looks better when loaded with cargo at the back. As for the rest of the pick-up truck, it now has LED units that give it a sleeker look, along with a new rear bumper and stylish alloy wheels. There's also new stamping on the tailgate.
From the exterior, we now move to the Navara's updated cabin. Immediately, you'll notice the 2021 Navara gets a sporty three-spoke steering wheel that replaces the previous V-shaped design. There's also an upgraded infotainment system, an improved instrument cluster, as well as a revamped automatic climate control panel.
All in all, it looks like Nissan has been busy changing up the looks of the Navara. From its restyled front end to the subtly updated rear, the automaker wanted to make sure the pick-up looks good in both on- and off-road. But what if you wanted a pick-up that's more macho than the already tough-looking VL? As mentioned earlier, the new top-of-the-line model for the 2021 Navara is the Pro-4X.
Instead of chrome trim, the Pro-4X trades it for blacked and gray exterior accents. These can be seen on the grille, door mirrors, door handles, roof rails, and down to the Nissan logo itself. Contrasting the pre-dominantly dark trim are the brightly-colored orange touches on the skid plate and fender accents. It also gets black alloy wheels that are wrapped in Yokohama all-terrain tires – exclusive only to this version.
Some might say the 2021 Nissan Navara relatively looks the same as the predecessor. But the upgrades and revisions Nissan made helped make the pick-up truck stand out more.
What do you think of the refreshed look of the Navara? Is it better than the predecessor's, or could have they done more to it? Let us know in the comments below.
