Out of all the car-themed movies and reality television shows produced by Hollywood, there are only a handful of very memorable ones, and this upcoming series from Netflix appears to be one of those.

Officially called Hyperdrive, the show is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before in a reality television series about cars.

At the moment, there are not a lot of details about the upcoming series just yet apart from it being a competition reality show. In fact, the streaming giant has not even released a trailer of Hyperdrive just yet. All we have to go on is the lone photo you see above.

The show is described to be Fast & Furious meeting American Ninja Warrior. You’re probably wondering how the two works, but it will supposedly be a competition between a number of drivers driving modified cars through crazy obstacle courses. These won’t be any drivers either as the website says that they are 'elite street racers from around the world'. They will be driving a wide variety of cars ranging from a classic Ford Mustang to Japanese tuner cars.

While that last sentence sounds like something straight out of Fast & Furious, Charlize Theron, who played a role in the movie franchise is on-board as an executive producer. She is joined by Rutledge Wood, Mike Hill, Michael Bisping, and Lindsay Czarniak who form the rest of the cast.

Based on their previous announcement last year, there will be ten episodes, all of which will drop on August 21. That said, do expect a trailer to drop sometime in August before the show officially arrives on Netflix. Now, we can’t wait to see this series drop soon.
