Switching from the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) to the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) is now a breeze after the Manila North Tollways Corporation finally completed the integration project between the two expressways. According to the company, it will cut about 40 minutes of travel time thanks to the project.
The PhP 650-million integration project means that, there will now only be two toll barrier stops for northern motorists going to Subic (via NLEX-SCTEX), coming from Balintawak (or the Mindanao gate), as opposed to the original five toll barrier stops. Moreover, there will now also only be two toll barrier stops remaining for motorists that will come from the same entry points, going to Tarlac (via NLEX-TPLEX), compared to the previous four stops.
The Santa Ines toll barrier will now be the next connection point for NLEX vehicles bound for Bamban, Magalang, Concepcion & Arayat. This barrier is built with 6 lanes flowing through the toll booths.
For those that will go to Baguio, the second toll barrier they will have to come across , second only to Balintawak or the Mindanao gate, is the La Paz, Tarlac toll booth. This barrier point has seven lanes – which can be come zipper lanes depending on the traffic flow from each direction.
