After making it's debut at the Geneva Motor Show last year, Ferrari's flagship model has officially arrived in the Philippines. Autostrada Motore Inc, the official Ferrari distributor in the Philippines, held the launch of the 812 Superfast last April 11 at The Island in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Present at the launch were Autostrada Motore Inc Chairman and president Wellington Soong. He was accompanied by Autostrada Executive Director, Marc Soong, who shared what to expect from the newly launched flagship model. Also present during the event was Fabio Schina who represented the Italian Embassy.
The Ferrari 812 Superfast is currently the fastest model in the the Prancing Horse's lineup. Powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12, the engine produces 800 PS and 718 Nm of torque, from which the name is derived. Power is then delivered to the wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. Ferrari claims the 812 Superfast can hit a top speed of 340 km/h. Furthermore, it only takes 2.9 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h.
Aside from the more powerful V12, the 812 Superfast also received handling upgrades. The most prominent change would have to be the all-new electric power steering (EPS), which Ferrari says will help drivers bring out the car's performance. This also marks the first Ferrari to be fitted with the system.
In terms of styling, the new 812 Superfast is said to 'redefine the language of front-engined V12 Ferraris.' While it still has lines similar to its predecessor, the F12 Berlinetta, it also sports new design cues. For example, the front fascia now sports new sweeping LED headlights coupled with larger grill. There are more flowing lines along the side to help improve aerodyanmics. At the rear, the Superfast is fitted with a new quad taillight design.
Viewings of the Ferrari 812 Superfast is now available at the Ferrari showroom in Bonifacio Global City. Each 812 Superfast is priced by Ferrari upon application.
