Waze integrates their navigation system into Fiat's 'Panda Uconnect' app

Ever since the navigation system Waze was introduced on our smartphones, it has certainly helped make lives easier by being able to get from point A to B in the shortest time possible. Over 100 million people use the app worldwide in order to gain collective live data and suggest alternate routes for other drivers using the smartphone app.

Fiat, it seems, is embracing the social capabilities of Waze, and have partnered with the creators of the app for a special edition Panda.

Called the Panda Waze, the crossover comes with the navigation app being integrated into the 'Panda Uconnect' app – available on both Android and iOS. The driver's mobile phone would then act as an extenstion of the vehicle, displaying both Waze and Uconnect simultaneously.

Apart from just showing the route, an alert will appear on screen should the fuel be running out or low tire pressure detected. The driver may then decide which gas station to fill up from or look for the nearest workshop. All of which can be seen without Waze needed to be closed, allowing one to know the direction at all times.

Externally, the Panda Waze looks similar to the Panda's Cross variant. It does receive a styling makeover such as the Waze logo below the A-pillar coupled with black side mouldings, roof bars and and door handles. Completing the exterior makeover are the 15-inch wheels with black covers. The same changes have also been applied to the interior with new seat upholstery and a gray dashboard. A mobile phone holder comes standard above the headunit, allowing drivers to see information more clearly. Under the hood, it is powered exclusively by a 1.2-liter gasoline engine which produces 69 PS.
