For those that have reserved and patiently waited for Mitsubishi's latest seven-seater, we have some good news for you. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has officially announced that the first batch of units of the Xpander is now in the country.

Recently arriving at the Bauan International Port in Batangas, MMPC stated that customer deliveries of the Xpander will commence by the end of May 2018. With over 3,800 paid bookings received by the end of April 2018, the company said that they are both overwhelemed and glad of the market's perception of the Xpander.

“With the all-new Xpander's class-leading features and with its very competitive pricing, we are looking at the great success of this model. “We thank the Filipinos for their warm market acceptance and we hope to have the same success that this model is currently reaping in Indonesia”, said Mutsuhiro Oshikiri, president and CEO of MMPC.

In review, the all-new Xpander is produced at the company's Krama Yudha facility in Bekasi, Indonesia. Inaugurated more than a year ago, the Indonesian plant is capable of producing 160,000 vehicles annually with the Xpander comprising 50-percent of production. The company expects that they will be exporting 30,000 units of the Xpander within the year alone.

With supply units expected to stabilize in the coming weeks, Mitsubishi hopes that they will be able to export more units in ASEAN. To date, domestic sales of the Xpander in Indonesia have exceeded 66,000 units. This resulted in Mitsubishi planning to increase production to 10,000 units a month to meet both domestic and export demands beginning in July.
