Aston Martin's new flagship GT car will soon be available as a convertible after the Gaydon-based automaker released the first images of the DB11 Volante. Set to be revealed in early 2018, Aston Martin will keep the tradition of using a fabric of soft top instead of opting for a folding hard top.

Based on the images, Aston Martin was able to retain the signature roofline of the hardtop DB11 for the soft top variant. However, it appears that the convertible is still in its prototype stages. With a keen eye, one would notice that the rear quarter panels are not yet final and look broader than usual. The trunk lid gets some minor revisions due to the installation of the folding roof.

Other than that, almost everything appeared to have been carried over from the standard DB11.

It is highly likely that the 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 will also be making its way in the upcoming DB11 Volante. The engine generates 608 PS along with 700 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox.
