Ford Focus is the best seller for first quarter 2013 based on Polk stats


Ford Focus has strong demands from key markets such as the UK, China and Brazil.

Ford Focus retains its ranking as the best-selling passenger vehicle as of the first quarter of 2013. Based on the analysis from the automotive data and marketing solutions company Polk.

The analysis reports that the global vehicle registrations of Ford Focus went up by 18% in the first quarter compared to the same period last year. It also reports that 288,724 units were registered in the quarter ending March 31, 2013.

The best seller has strong demands from its key markets such as the UK with 25,081 units, China with 104,065 units and a 153% increase, and Brazil with 7,227 units and an 18% increase.


The Ford Focus Electric is now available in Europe. The car enjoys being the first in two aspects – the first full-electric vehicle to be built by Ford in Europe and the first full-electric passenger car manufactured in Germany directly from a volume production line.

Ford has increased its capacity worldwide to accommodate the growing demand for the Focus. The latest developments include the adding of the Pacheco, Argentina plant as a producer the of the vehicle. Other countries that produce the Ford Focus are Germany, US, Russia, China, Thailand, Vietnam and Taiwan.
