Randy Krieger replaces Richard Baker as president of FGP
Manila, 5 May 2010 - Effective June 1, 2010, Randy Krieger, current president of Ford Japan, has been assigned to become the new president of Ford Group Philippines. He will replace Richard Baker, who has been appointed deputy general manager of Ford's China joint venture, Changan Ford Mazda Automobile (CFMA). Krieger will report directly to Peter Fleet, president of Ford ASEAN.
In his new role, Krieger will have the responsibility of building on the successes of Ford Group Philippines to further drive sales and market shares for Ford and Mazda vehicle nameplates onto new heights. This includes leveraging ASEAN regional assets and resources, overseeing the successful implementation of product programs, and driving the efficiencies of Ford's manufacturing operations.
"Randy's proven leadership and experience in the Asia region will be instrumental in helping continue to grow our business in the Philippines," said Peter Fleet, president, Ford ASEAN. "The Philippines is an important and vibrant market for Ford in the Asia Pacific and Africa region, and Randy will lead the continued implementation of our One Ford plan to deliver world-class Ford products and services to Philippine consumers, including the upcoming launch of Ford Fiesta."
As president of Ford Japan since 2006, Krieger has driven the successful restructuring of the operations and helped solidify Ford's domestic market position. Prior to his Japan posting, Krieger served as vice president of Marketing, Sales and Service at Changan Ford in Chongqing, China, where he played a central role in helping drive sales of Ford brand vehicles six-fold over a 30-month period. During this time, Changan Ford dealers increased from 26 to 150, and awareness of the Ford brand more than doubled.
Krieger joined Ford in 1986, and in addition to his postings in Asia Pacific, he has served in both Ford's North America and European operations in marketing, finance, and dealer operations roles. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, USA, and has a MBA in finance from the University of Memphis, Tennessee.
Rick Baker, who has served as president of FGP since 2007, has been appointed deputy general manager of Changan Ford Mazda Automobile (CFMA) in China, effective June 1.
During his time with FGP, Baker has been key in implementing the ONE Ford plan in the Philippines, during which time the company has delivered record sales as well as expanded its successful export program of Ford and Mazda vehicles to markets across the Asia region.
Baker began his career with Ford in 1977, and throughout his 30-year career he has made significant contributions in a variety of roles, including leading Ford operations in Indonesia, senior management roles in South Africa, Ford Japan and Ford Lio Ho in Taiwan, as well as serving as marketing manager for Ford's regional Asia-Pacific operations.
