Ford Philippines issues statement regarding Ranger Raptor that loss its rear axle

Remember that video we shared over the weekend about a certain Ford Ranger Raptor?

Last November 13, a red Ranger Raptor suffered a (bizarre) mechanical failure when it lost its rear axle. The vehicle was traveling along the Muntinlupa Cavite Expressway (MCX) when the unfortunate incident happened.

Luckily, it seems no one was seriously hurt or injured when it happened. However, there was no clear explanation as to why the rear axle suddenly came off. With the video now viral, some have speculated that it was caused by quality issues by Ford itself.

Seeing that the video is causing a stir in social media, Ford Philippines sent us an official statement to clear the matter. In their own words, Ford said that the vehicle is now at a dealer for assessment. More importantly, the automaker shared that the owner of the Ranger Raptor said that the accident was not a result of vehicle quality or performance.

With Ford Philippines already busy inspecting what happened over the weekend, we're hoping that they will be able to find the root cause as to why the rear axle came off the pick-up truck.

Below is Ford Philippines' official statement regarding the matter.

"A photo/video circulated on social media last weekend about an incident that took place along a national highway involving a Ranger Raptor. The vehicle is now at a Ford dealer for initial assessment. According to the customer, the accident was not a result of vehicle quality or performance. At Ford, we remain committed to ensuring the safety of our customers in our vehicles."
