The Ranger Raptor, Ford's new (and first) global performance truck, is definitely one of this year's most awaited vehicles.

The “junior” version of the off-road performance line that began with the F-150 Raptor, the Ranger Raptor is set to deliver similar off-road thrills (and surprisingly, comfort) to the market, especially with its new 213 PS, 2.0-liter diesel with twin sequential turbos and a 10-speed automatic gearbox.

During the launch of the 2018 Ford EcoSport a few nights ago, we spoke to Ford Philippines Managing Director Bertrand Lessard as to when the Ranger Raptor could be seen in the market. Earlier this month, we received photos of what could be the first few units of the Ranger Raptor to arrive in the Philippines.

Surprisingly, Bertrand Lessard gave a direct answer.

“We plan to launch the Ranger Raptor on September 21,” said the head of Ford Philippines. “And we'll start selling it the very next day.”

If you're waiting to get a Ranger Raptor, or even just get a look at one, you don't have much longer to wait. As to when customers can get their hands on one is unclear because like the Ranger and the Everest, the Ranger Raptor is produced in Thailand.

Lessard didn't give any indication of the price, though the Managing Director of Ford Philippines did say that the Raptor will be marketed as a separate model from the standard Ranger.

Interestingly enough, Bertrand Lessard also indicated that the refreshed Ford Ranger will be launched soon as well. It is unclear whether the refreshed Ranger will be launched at the same time as the Raptor, or will follow soon after.
