Here’s some good news for fans of the F-150 pick-up truck. Ford Philippines has announced that they will be officially launching the all-new 14th-generation model. Best of all, it will come with a diesel engine.
The announcement comes from the new “Coming Soon” page on the Ford Philippines website. If you visit the site, it shows the new F-150 together with the new Explorer listed as coming soon models, even if the latter is already available in a few Ford dealerships. With that, let’s focus on the full-size pick-up.
At the moment, Ford did not disclose the full specs of the new F-150 apart from being available with a diesel. In particular, that diesel engine is the 3.0-liter Power Stroke Turbo Diesel rated at 250 horsepower and 597 Nm torque. It’s then paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the wheels. For now, we’re not sure if we’ll be getting the 4x4 or the 4x2 variant.
Ford Philippines also mentioned that the new F-150 will be sold in Lariat trim. For reference, that’s the “mid-spec” variant offered in North America. Based on the F-150 Lariat available in the US, it should come with automatic LED headlights with DRLs, 18-inch wheels, a two-bar chrome grille, and LED taillights. Inside, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster sits in front of the driver paired with a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Power seats wrapped in leather also come standard on the Lariat trim.
There’s no word yet when the new F-150 will officially arrive in the Philippines. It’s also uncertain Ford Philippines will only offer the full-size pick-up in one trim, the Lariat. Hopefully, the all-electric Lightning or even the Baja-spec F-150 Raptor make their way here too.
Nonetheless, we’re glad to see that it didn’t take too long for the new F-150 to arrive and with a diesel engine to top it off. However, those that recently purchased the older F-150 sold by Ford Philippines might not be too happy about the news.
