Ford Philippines recently reported that they beat their all-time record for units sold in a month for April 2016. Thanks to strong demand for the Ranger, Ecosport, Explorer, and Everest, sales have grown 93% to 3,152 units when compared to last year’s sales.
“Our full lineup of global Ford vehicles continues to be very well received by customers, helping our brand continue to gain momentum and even more appeal,” said Lance Mosley, the managing director of Ford Philippines. “Whether it’s one of the 13 variants of the Ranger or one of our segment-defining SUVs, we’re connecting with the diverse lifestyles and work requirements of Filipinos across the country.”
The record month was achieved mainly thanks to the new Everest. With sales going up to 1,308 units, the Everest alone accounts for roughly 41% of the total sales for the month. Having enjoyed immense popularity since its launch, the Everest remains Ford’s best selling nameplate with a total of 4,838 units sold since its launch.
Ford’s smaller offering, the Ecosport, also played a sizeable role in boosting sales for last month. Selling 837 units, this figure represents a 25% increase compared to last year’s numbers for the Ecosport. The Ranger gets its fair share of increase in sales as well, with a 13% improvement over last year resulting in 786 units sold.
The Explorer, with its more premium position in the lineup, sold 80 units last month, almost tying with the Fiesta which sold 81 units. The new Ford Mustang also gets a decent jump in sales, with 19 units sold over the last month alone contributing to a total of 98 units sold since its release.
With sales records at an all-time high, Ford intends to keep improving sales for their popular vehicles with the recent release of the Ecosport Black Edition as well as the Everest Titanium 2.2L 4x2 Premium Package.
