When Ford Philippines was getting ready to launch the Fiesta last year, they chose to try out an industry "first" by using Facebook to connect with their target market.

It was a big gamble, but anyone who has "Liked" their Ford Fiesta in the Philippines Facebook page knows that this effort has been a resounding success; one that has resulted in a thriving online network of Ford Fiesta owners and enthusiasts that is 62,653 members strong (as of Oct. 11, 2011).

After a year of chronicling the Fiesta in the Philippines, from FGP's own events and the owners sharing stories about their prized "FoFi" (Ford Fiesta), Ford Group Philippines' Fiesta Facebook page has made it to the shortlist of possible awardees for the prestigious Asian Digital Media Awards 2011 under the Best use of Social Media Category.

The awards night, which will be held in Beijing on November 9, will see Ford Philippines entry, the lone Philippine finalist in the Digital Media Awards, compete against entries from around the region.

That is definitely worth the "Like".
