The Ranger is quite possibly Ford's most popular pickup model here in the Philippines and ASEAN region. So much so that Ford Philippines currently offers the Ranger in numerous variants, allowing customers to choose the best one for their needs. From the base XLS to the range topping Raptor, there's really a Ranger for everyone. Soon however, more variants or models of the Ranger could appear as Ford Philippines plans to expand the pickup truck's lineup.

Speaking with Ford Philippines Managing Director Bertrand Lessard yesterday, he says that the Ranger lineup is set to be expanded in the near future. To be specific, he says that it will be expaned similar to how Ford offers the F-Series truck range in North America. However, Lesssard also mentions that it will not be like the F-350 and F-700 trucks which are already commercial vehicles. Instead, the expanded Ranger  will continue to offer (and remain as) passenger vehicles.

Given that the Ranger is already becoming the F-150 counterpart in the region, it's no surprise then that the Blue Oval brand is planning to expand the ever-popular pickup's offerings even more. Doing so would allow them to cater to more customers who may have specific needs or wants for their pick up.

When asked as to when the expanded Ranger model range would debut, Lessard did not mention any specific date. He simply mentioned that it will arrive soon. He also didn't mention whether the expansion is for the ASEAN region or simply for the Philippine market.

With an expanded Ranger line coming soon, what variant would you like to see Ford Philippines offer locally?
