After winning the International Engine of the Year Award for their 1.0-liter EcoBoost Engine (a motor that's still yet to arrive in the Philippines), this time their all new pick-up truck, the Ford Ranger, has just won another... this time unanimously.
After extensive testing at the Millbrook Proving Ground in the UK, the all new Ford Ranger garnered a total of 47 points by the panel of judges present. The points tally is more than the combined points by the trucks in 2nd and 3rd place; the Isuzu DMAX and Volkswagen Amarok, respectively.
Each member of the panel chose the Ranger as their number one choice, praising its on-road and off-road manners and performance, the strong engine line-up, payload and towing capabilities as well as the truck's safety.
"The Ford Ranger is a great all-rounder, combining the perfect blend of on-road comfort and stability with off-road capability," said Jarlath Sweeney, the Irish judge on the panel of CV journalists that also serves on the "International Van of the Year" jury.
"The Ranger is great for work and great for leisure, and customers will appreciate the difference as soon as they get behind the wheel," said Paul Randle, vehicle line director, Global Commercial Vehicles, Ford of Europe.
