Ford holds 2nd anniversary of the Territory’s arrival in the country
If there is one Ford vehicle that is really proving popular with buyers, it’s the Territory. Sure, the Everest and Ranger are also one of the brand’s best-sellers, but the Territory is unique since it’s a new nameplate that first made its debut back in 2020.
Even though the pandemic may have dampened its initial run, the Territory quickly became the Blue Oval’s most popular crossover in years. Two years on since its debut in the Philippines, the Ford Territory has carved itself a pretty big slice of the small SUV market at 52% which is impressive for a relatively new vehicle.
For the first half of 2022, the company has sold 3,691 units of the Territory which is an increase of 11% from the previous year. The company was also able to post its best-ever retail month performance since its launch with 1,574 Territories sold - almost thrice the volume sold in the same month last year.
Combined with the fact that the Ford Territory already achieved a 10,000th sales milestone earlier this year, the company is poised to hit the 15,000th sales milestone before the end of 2022. For Ford Philippines Managing Director Mike Breen, the Territory remains one of the automaker’s most important models.
“We are delighted to see that the Ford Territory has maintained its appeal to Filipino SUV customers two years since it was launched. “The Ford Territory remains one of our most important vehicles in the Ford lineup and we are excited to sustain its success for the remainder of the year,” said Breen.
With a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, a wide array of features and amenities, as well as a long list of intelligent driver aids and safety kits, the Ford Territory has proven its worth in the small SUV market. But with new players and contenders joining the hotly-contested segment, Ford has its work cut out in maintaining its share in the small SUV market.
