Foton is no stranger in the Philippine automotive industry. Chery being a newcomer, and being under the same wing of the United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), they look to establish the same foothold in the country as well. Just today, both brands opened the doors to their newest dealerships in the country - this time, in Davao City, Mindanao under Autohub Group.

Located in Panacan, Davao City, the Foton, Chery dealership is situated in the hub of economic activity in the region, the Davao Seaport, as well as the Davao International Airport.

“We are thrilled to see our new Davao City dealership come to life.  Thanks to Autohub Group’s continued drive and trust towards UAAGI. We commend them for this tremendous facility that will deliver notable and holistic sales, aftersales, and marketing approach to the Davaoeños,” said UAAGI president Rommel Sytin.

He later on went to say, “The China auto industry has arrived. They have mastered automotive technology and design and elevated it to world-class levels. And with the implementation of the Philippine-China free trade agreement, the duties for imported vehicles from China have made it low enough to compete with imports from our ASEAN neighbors on price point as well. With Chery, we are confident—we are convinced—that all the ingredients are in place. The timing is right.”

The new Autohub dealership boasts of a 6-passenger vehicle showroom featuring Chery and Foton vehicles, while a separate area has space enough for 4 heavy-duty Foton trucks on display. To be able to to provide efficient aftersales service, they have dedicated 6 service bays for passenger vehicles, and 7 more for commercial trucks.

Foton’s passenger van and commercial vehicle lineup includes the Gratour MT and Tornado light duty trucks, which are already well known in the provinces. Other vehicles include the TransVan that has the 13 to 16 seater variants, the Traveller which can accommodate up to 19 passengers and the Toano which is well-known to be a VIP van for its luxurious, homey, and passenger entertainment-bred interiors.

Chery’s display, on the other hand, will include the entire Tiggo lineup. The four Tiggo models (the subcompact Tiggo 2 and 5x, the compact Tiggo 7, and the midsize 7-seater Tiggo 8) will allow their prospective buyers more flexibility in terms of usage. This flexibility will be advantageous to those who are looking for a car that offers a sweet ride but can double up as a workhorse as well.

“Foton’s vehicle line of both private cars and most especially its wide range of commercial trucks, is the perfect partner to the city and region's growing economy. It's "Kayang-Kaya" price range in particular, is a testament to FOTON's commitment to support the SMEs as well as large enterprises,” expressed Willy Tee Ten, Autohub Group president and Foton, Chery Davao Dealer Principal.

As for Chery, its “…line of crossovers is the perfect partner to the city and region's growing economy. We will be present – from assisting customers during their vehicle purchase with affordable bank financing programs and comprehensive insurance coverage needs to parts, after sales services such as preventive maintenance service, body and paint repairs, insurance claims repair, among others,” Tee Ten added.
