As the demand for large people carriers continue to grow, Foton is set to release another version of the View Traveller van. It is called the Traveller XL and it is capable of seating 19 people in comfort.
When released, the Traveller XL will serve as the biggest model in the nameplate’s lineup and will be longer than the 16-seater View Traveller. It will have a slightly longer body and a slightly revised seat layout for the occupants. In addition, the Traveller XL will come in the same high-roof body for improved cabin space.
Powering the 19-seater van will be the familiar 2.8-liter Cummins ISF SOHC turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine. It puts out 130 PS at 3600 rpm along with 280 Nm of torque at 1400 rpm. A five-speed manual gearbox will come as standard on the Traveller XL. However, future models could soon come with the new automatic transmission as found in the 2018 Toplander A/T.
The first units of the View Traveller XL have already arrived since October but Foton plans to begin selling the new 19-seater van by December. Official pricing has yet to be revealed.
