The Peugeot 308 is the latest hatchback model from the brand’s lineup and is expected to be the main attraction on its Frankfurt stand. The new hatchback features a refined and contemporary exterior design, the Peugeot i-Cockpit interior, and a range of modern and fuel-efficient powertrains.
The 308 is built on the Efficient Modular Platform 2 making it the lightest model in its segment, 140 kg less than its predecessor. The 4.25 meter-long vehicle has an aerodynamic design meant for dynamic excellence and a generous interior space. The interior features the minimalist Peugeot i-Cockpit inspired by the Peugeot SR1 Concept. It consists of a compact steering wheel for enhanced maneuverability, and elevated gauges for better reading and visibility among others.
Buyers are given the option to choose among five gasoline engines and an HDi diesel engine, all offering good fuel economy and 93g/km CO2 emission. By Spring 2014, the 308 will be the first Peugeot car to benefit from the 1.2 liter e-THP, the brand’s innovative three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. With the variety of engine choices, the Peugeot 308 will have the widest possible range of high-performance and economical engines in its market.
