Sketches of the new Audi Quattro concept car came out at AutoZeitung dated to August 14, 2013. The car featured on the sketches is the one believed to make an appearance at the 2013 Frankfurt show in September.
Being named the Audi Quattro Sport e-tron Concept is designed to be a hybrid that will match contemporaries like the Porsche 918 Spyder and BMW i8. The car is powered by the twin-turbo 4.0 TFSI V8 , similar to that of the new RS 6 and RS 7, paired with an electric hybrid drivetrain. The combination is believed to provide 700 PS. While the current engine specifications are different from that of the previous Quattro concept, the decision might create better chances on production reality.
The Audi Quattro first made its name back in the 1980s as the first rally car to use the four-wheel drive system. Traces of that car still appear on the concept’s boxy body with a sloped back and front engine layout.
For now, we have to wait until Audi makes an official announcement.
