After introducing the 2016 A4 last June, Audi has officially revealed the all-new S4 at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. According to the automaker, the 2016 S4 will come with a new lightweight design, a more powerful engine and the latest array of technologies.

The 2016 S4 carries over the 'sporty yet understated' look of the regular A4 and only carries minor exterior revisions such as a restyled grill, 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 245/40 tires (19-inch alloys are optional), aluminum side mirrors, trunk-mounted spoiler, S-specific rear bumper and quad exhausts.

The cabin has been relatively carried over as well but gets S sport seats upholstered in pearl nappa leather and Alcantara. Also present are illuminated door sill trims that come with the S4 logo, brushed aluminum trim and the optional 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

At the heart of the 2016 S4 is a new turbocharged 3.0-liter TFSI V6 that pushes out 354 PS and 500 Nm of torque, eclipsing the previous output figure of 333 PS and 440 Nm. Apart from delivering more power, the new engine is also lighter which allows for better fuel efficiency added Audi.

Power is then delivered to all four wheels via Audi's quattro AWD system that comes with a self-locking differential which channels 60% of the torque to the rear wheels. Up to 70% can be transferred to the front axle when the need arises. The AWD system works alongside a new 8-speed tiptronic gearbox that is more efficient and can deliver faster gear changes according to Audi.
