Aside from the 225xe, the BMW 330e plug-in hybrid is set to debut at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15.
The 330e plug-in hybrid is essentially based on the facelifted BMW 3 Series. It is powered by a four-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers 187 PS and an 89 PS electric motor. BMW claims that the total power output of the 330e is 256 PS and 420 Nm of torque.
In addition, the 330e is equipped with a lithium-ion battery that has a capacity of 7.6kWh and can be fully charged at conventional household in 3 hours.
BMW says the 330e can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds before hitting a top speed of 225 km/h. The German automaker says the vehicle's fuel consumption is 1.9 to 2.1 liter per 100 km (53 to 49 km/l). The 330e also has an electric range of up to 40 km with speeds up to 120 km/h.
