Hyundai has revealed the 2016 i20 Active ahead of its debut at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show.
The said vehicle is essentially a beefed-up version of the i20 five-door hatchback, which was first previewed during the 2014 Paris Motor Show. With that in mind, the fascia of the i20 Active is fitted with skid plates as well as a revamped bumper and circular fog lamps.
The rear of the 2016 i20 Active features minor design changes as seen in the round reflector lights and skid plates. The vehicle is also equipped with roof rails and cladding across its wheel arches. Hyundai says the i20 Active's ground clearance increased by 20mm as compared to the standard five-door hatch.
The 2016 i20 Active will be powered by Hyundai's new three-cylinder 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. It will be offered with two power outputs: 100 PS version is tuned to maximize fuel economy while the 120 PS aims to deliver more spirited driving.
