Frankfurt 2015 Preview: SsangYong XAV-Adventure, XLV-Air concepts teased

SsangYong teases two new SUV concepts

SsangYong is set to bring two concept cars at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show as the Korean automaker released teaser images of the XAV-Adventure and XLV-Air. According to SsangYong, the said concepts are based on the Tivoli platform, the brand's compact SUV model.

Judging from the teaser images, the XAV-Adventure concept features a boxy exterior along with sharp-looking headlights, an aggressive bumper and slim front grill. SsangYong says the XAV-Adventure concept is a modern interpretation of the company's Korando model.

The rear of the XAV-Adventure concept has distinctive taillights, a muscular bumper and roof rails. The Korean automaker says the concept targets “active and young generations.”

On the other hand, the XLV-Air concept is said to be the pre-production version of the long bodied Tivoli which will be launched early next year. Up front, it has swept-back headlights, a large bumper and a sculpted hood.

The rear of the XLV-Air concept comes with roof rails, wraparound taillights and a prominent bumper.

The XLV-Air concept is powered either by a 1.6-liter gasoline or a 1.6-liter diesel engine. The two engines will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission or an optional six-speed 'Aisin' automatic.
