Hyundai Motor is making a huge splash at the 67th International Frankfurt Motor Show with world premiere of not one but two vehicles that will cater to a broader market in the motoring industry.
Leading the pack is Hyundai’s first high-performance car, the i30 N. Powered by a turbocharged 2.0L engine, it can be tweaked for the Performance Package to deliver 275 PS or the Standard Package with 250 PS. Both outputs come with 353 Nm of torque but can go as high as 378 Nm with the Overboost function. The Standard Package goes from 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds while the Performance Package can go faster at 6.1 seconds.
Precision, control, safety and durability in high performance situations are key characteristics of the i30 N, says Hyundai and this very first N model will give the user control over various drive modes to suit his or her mood or preference.
The i30 Fastback is a premium, five-door coupé representing Hyundai’s foray into the compact market. It comes with the automaker’s SmartSense active safety and driving assistance features, and will use two step-down version of the turbocharged petrol engines from the new generation i30.
Making an attractive proposition in this segment is Hyundai’s choice to make SmartSense active safety and all its driver-assistive features available on all trims of the i30 range.
“With the new Hyundai i30 N, i30 Fastback and the all-new KONA we are proud to present a wide-ranging showcase of new models and innovative technology based on our customers’ needs at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, our home motor show. By expanding our strong product line-up, combined with our digital and intelligent services, we will emotionalise the brand and attract new customer groups,” said Thomas A. Schmid, Chief Operating Officer at Hyundai Motor Europe.
