Chery releases new design renderings of all-new compact SUV

Several weeks ago, Chery gave us a glimpse of its new global compact SUV which will soon be making its world debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Based on the images, the upcoming SUV will have a stylish exterior and a high-tech interior.

Now, the China-based automaker has released new design renderings of the all-new crossover before its eventual debut in a few weeks time. From the looks of things, Chery's global SUV will have an imposing exterior that is dominated by well-defined character lines and sharp styling. According to the brand, the unnamed SUV will be their first model to feature their new design language called 'Life in Motion'.

Looking at the renderings, it gets muscular wheel arches with black wheel lip moldings, along with overly-large alloy wheels. Also, splashes of chrome trim festoon the SUV and can be seen on the door apertures, side skirts, front and rear bumpers, tailgate, and rear diffuser. Both the headlights and taillights are equipped with LED lighting as well.

When launched, the new SUV will mark the brand's eventual entry in the highly-competitive European market. Not only that, all future crossovers and MPVs from Chery that will enter Europe will be available with electrified powertrains, as well as distinct styling and high-tech features.

“The world premiere of our new compact SUV marks the start of our approach to European sales with a new model line. Launching within a few years, all models in the line-up will feature characteristic styling, user-focused technology, electrified powertrains and advanced safety features,” said Ray Bierzynski, executive vice president of Chery R&D Center Shanghai.

The 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show will run from September 14 until September 25.
