Back in December 2016, Lamborghini launched their updated flagship supercar, the Aventador S. Lamborghini's flagship saw a rash of improvements in performance, aerodynamics and handling courtesy of a wide array of upgrades. Now, a week before the upcoming Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA), Lamborghini has revealed the open-top 2018 Aventador S Roadster.

Like its hardtop counterpart, the new Aventador S Roadster has the same performance characteristics albeit with the luxury of having an open-air driving experience. Furthermore, the Aventador S' striking exterior design has been retained on the Roadster, but does have unique styling new cues to set it apart.

Interested customers can have it finished in gloss black or other personal colors for extra with Lamborghini's Ad Personam program. There is also a new Y-shaped engine bridge that runs from the back window to the rear of the body.

As for the powertrain, it still uses the same 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 which puts out 740 PS and 690 Nm of torque mated to Lamborghini's seven-speed lightweight Independent Shifting Rod transmission. Combined, it allows the Aventador S Roadster to sprint from 0-97 km/h in just 3-seconds with a top speed of 350 km/h.
