At the upcoming Frankfurt International Motor Show, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will be exhibiting two new models of the Amarok – the Aventura Exclusive concept and the new Dark Label limited edition. As the model name suggest, the Aventura Exclusive is but a preview of Volkswagen's range toper for the Amarok. Meanwhile, the Dark Label limited edition will be available beginning 2018.
Beginning with the Amarok Aventura Exclusive concept, the double-cab body is finished in striking Tumeric Yellow Metallic borrowed from the facelifted Golf and all-new Arteon. It also receives new 19-inch wheels which have been finished in chrome to match the rest of the chrome exterior accents. There are also new bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights.
Inside, the Amarok Aventura Exclusive lives up to the 'exclusive' name with a more premium interior. The upholstery has been finished in black leather with yellow stitching to match the exterior. 14-way electricall adjustable seats, a rearview camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel and black headliner.
What makes the Amarok Aventura Exclusive concept special however is the improved 3.0-liter V6 engine. Volkswagen says it now outputs 258 PS, up from previous 204 PS, and also has an increased torque, ensuring ample power for both towing and acceleration. It is then mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and permanent all-wheel drive.
As for the Amarok Dark Label edition, it is based on the standard Amarok Comfortline trim, but is finished in a new Iridium Gray matte paint combined with blackened body accents and trim. Sportier 18-inch wheels complete the exterior makeover. Inside, there are 'Dark Label' logos found on the seats and on the floor mats.
Unlike the Aventura Exclusive concept, the Amarok Dark Label makes do with the current line of engines and powertrain options. Volkswagen has yet to announce when the more powerful V6 will be offered in the market.
